The Perkins Lab
The Perkins Computational Biology and Bioinformatics Lab at Mississippi State University develops novel algorithms for analysis of high throughput biological data. Ongoing projects involve the use of machine learning methods for assessment of genome assembly quality, and construction and analysis of biological networks from transcriptomic data. We have long-standing interdisciplinary collaborations with faculty in a variety of areas of the life sciences, and a strong interest in Computer Science and Bioinformatics education.
